Silent movie program and picture: Mrs. Vernon Castle on one side and program for a theatre on back circa 1919. Names of the movies and stars: Wm. Faversham in The Silver King; Billie Burke in Good Gracious, Annibel; Ethel Clayton in The Mystery Girl. Good condition – bent. Irene Castle and her husband Vernon (born Vernon Blythe) were famous ballroom dancers of the early 20th century. Beginning about 1914 they operated several clubs and studios in NYC, toured the country dancing and were able to charge as much as $1,000 an hour for lessons. They appeared in an Irving Berlin musical, “Watch Your Step,” and in the film “The Whirl of Life”.
