Dreamy tissue silk tea dress 1923-1925. This romantic and feminine gown by the design house of sisters Baronne Jeanne and Madame Sylvie, incorporates their Filet Boué floral patterned lace. The lace neckline is comprised of the signature cupid, 3D flowers, and embroidered ribbons. There are two lace ruffles on the front with embroidery on a fine net. Between the neckline and the ruffles are embroidered bouquets.
The back is 3″ longer than the front, and the hem is edged with a scalloped net trim. There are some faint stains throughout, and a break in the lace on the right front shoulder. There’s a narrow, 10″ repair up from the back hem; you have to open a fold to see it. Even if it’s a nightgown I’d get married in this heavenly piece in a second – except I’ve already been married twice.
